Technology has brought about the new and modern ways of roofing houses both commercial and residential. These methods are very unique in their own because each has different characteristics. heritage roofing on the other hand is not embraced by many because these people are ignorant of the existence of such roofing method. Because they don't know then it means that they are not using this method and they are going for what they know for roofing. Many people don't embrace this method because they are not sure about its reliability because they are always looking for reliability of the method before embarking on one. This method is not embraced by many because it is quite expensive and builders cannot afford. People are running away from this method because they want to experience new and sophisticated methods that are in the market. They are tired of having only one method for along time and for this reason they are looking for better ones. This method has so many pitfalls and when builders compare their expenses and benefits, the expenses are more and thus they move away from this method. |

Having completed the balcony railings project for my condo's verandah, now I'm looking indoors for new project. On the first floor of my condo, in between the entrance door and the garage door, there is a small 8’ x 12’ room. It lies across from the washer and dryer, which are covered by folding doors. The room has an archway, so it is open and has been used mostly for storage room by previous occupants. I would like to convert this room to a small bedroom or office space. It would require framing the archway to house a double door. A small decorative window could be placed in the semi-circle above the door. If converted to an office space, network wiring might be useful. Also, for either the bedroom or office, running a cable TV connection would also be good. This area is idea for a spare bedroom for guests or as a video game room. Simply changing the open alcove to a closed door for privacy will do the trick and increase the usefulness of this small room. |

After introducing bed bug powders, I can at last now have a good night's sleep. It wasn't like I was "letting the bed bug's bite" as the saying goes, it was just the thought they were there. I would lie in bed imagining an army of bugs munchng on my bed fibres.
I'd also had problems with other pests in the summer, including flies, cockroaches, midges and even mosquitoes. I managed to solve all these issues with various methods of pest control, although it was a really big learning curve. I feel now that I've got the tools to deal with all these bugs, my house feels so much cleaner now. Certainly living in the countryside is different to the city, that's for sure. But I wouldn't change it for the world - I do love living in the countryside and certainly would not dream of moving away from it. |

I prefer to avoid the use of pest control. I believe that cleanliness and diligence are enough when it comes to keeping your apartment clean. Sure, I've used some fly screens in the past because you can't just leave windows open and expect flies to respect your cleanliness. However, I've changed my tune a bit over the years.
Unfortunately, that may not always be true of the apartments around you. There is an apartment across the hall that is filled to the brim with junk. The owner of the apartment is a known hoarder and also a source of vermin, in the form of roaches. There was such a large concentration of roaches in her place that they began seeping into her other apartments. It got to the point that I would find them out during the day! At first I attempted to rid of them with powder and traps I placed around the kitchen (their main hiding place). It helped much less than I had hoped. I would find one or two dead roaches for every 3 or 4 live ones. Finally, I, unwillingly, called the super and he came to my apartment and laid down a series of roach bombs, which cannot be good for our health! The bombs exploded, while we were out of the apartment, and we had to keep the area quarantined for at least 6 hours before returning. On our return, there was a sea of dead cockroaches and with them was our freedom to walk around the apartment, unperturbed. |

Okay, so it's not easy: It takes a lot of back-breaking labor to accomplish. Our house came with a patio, but it had settled a lot prior to us taking ownership of the house. The settling that the patio did meant that the patio looked more like a wave in the ocean than it did a flat service. Step one was to remove all of the old patio bricks and stack them at the front of the house with a "FREE" sign attached to it. We never liked those gray bricks, anyway! We then had to level out the sand that was beneath the bricks and build it up again before settling the new bricks down. I'd also like to add some solar security lights in the garden too.
All-in-all, the new patio was relatively cheap and took about a week to complete. I'd say it's added quite a pretty penny to the value of our house, plus it's just in time for late night summer BBQs and entertaining of friends and family. |

Screen windows are a necessity for some parts of the country. Or for most of the country for that matter. It keeps insects out, it can also serve as a security feature, it can help in controlling sunlight, it is that and more. But it also has a major flaw. The need for it to be installed separate from the window makes it that much easier to fall off or break off in inclement weather or strong winds.
